Zone 8+ Meeting
The Society of Physics Students at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, is proud to announce that we will be hosting an SPS Zone 8+ Meeting this spring! We're especially excited to announce that this year's meeting will be retreat-styled at one of Tennessee's state parks. Look below for important information.
Dates: Friday, March 4th, 2016 through Sunday, March 6th, 2016
Location: Cumberland Mountain State Park in Crossville, TN, about an hour east of Knoxville, TN
Registration Cost: $50 - includes lodging for two nights and all meals
Register By: February 22nd, 2016
The goal of this SPS Zone 8+ Meeting is to connect undergraduates interested in physics from across Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, and the surrounding region. The conference presents an opportunity for undergraduates to share their research with each other and get practice for professional settings. Students also have a chance to learn more about physics careers and graduate school and to connect with top faculty and researchers.
Students will spend two nights at the Cumberland Mountain State Park in shared cabins (included in registration fee). Please note that space is limited for this conference as such. We do not anticipate having to turn any students away, but please register as soon as possible so that we can plan correctly.
We would like every student who desires to attend be able to. However, we are unfortunately unable to offer any financial assistance at this moment in time. We encourage students to reach out to their departments and schools for aid with funding. If assistance from us is available at a later date, we will update this page to reflect the change.
