The Society of Physics Students at the University of Knoxville Tennessee engages in a large number of outreach events. One of the organizations we work with is the Muse Knoxville a kids science museum near the Knoxville Zoo. We also partner with them during the STEAM Festival running demos and making liquid nitrogen ice cream. Unlike some of our market square demos which are restricted to non-powered demos the can bring some more exciting demos like a hyper loop demonstrator which accelerates a ping pong ball to supersonic speeds and then is slowed down by an aluminum can, a electromagnetic ring launcher, atomic emission spectrum tubes, and many more. It also allows us to give these budding scientists hands on lessons in angular momentum and conservation of energy.
